I contacted four masonry companies to inspect and give me estimates on the necessary work. Estimates on cost and scope of work varied widely, ranging from $7,000 to $15,000 dollars. Chris came out and personally inspected the roof and gave me an estimate on what he thought would be the required scope of work. The roof must be removed before an accurate determination can be made on what needs to be repaired. The masonry repairman and roofer work very closely together and alternate with their time on the roof (remove the roof, repair the masonry, replace the roof). So it is important to have a tuckpointer and roofer that work together to get the job completed in a minimum amount of time. I was very pleased with the work done and the cost only exceeded the original estimate by $200. All the roof and masonry work was completed in four days.

The only thing more outstanding than the quality of work they perform is their reliability and professionalism. I had them do one major job (re-tuckpoint our condo building) and a small glass block project. Both were outstanding. I can't say enough good things about these two. Quality work at a reasonable price. Hard to find in Chicago. Definitely on my list of keepers.

We own a 100 year old 2-flat and have worked with many contractors over the years. R & C tuckpointing provides a combination of excellent workmanship, responsiveness and professionalism that we had not experienced before. Their work is outstanding and Rich and Chris are just a pleasure to work with.

Our 15 unit condo needed so much work before Chris and Rich came to help us. We had lintels replaced, windows caulked, glass block windows replaced, bricks cleaned and large amount of tuckpointing completed inside and out. Chris and Rich did a wonderful job at a great price. Our condo association learned alot about our building and masonry from Chris. Plus, they were always on time and very professional - they were really a joy to work with. Our condo association highly recommends them.
